Freshly roasted coffee being cooled after coming out of the roaster

Established in 1981

We have been roasting and serving coffee, becoming a part of the flavor of the the Flathead Valley, since the company was founded in 1981. Coffee has changed a lot over the last 40 years, and we have grown and evolved along with the changing tastes and needs of our customers.

Quality

It's the foundation of every cup. We source high-grade arabica coffee from farmers all over the world, including direct to farm partnerships. Our roast master takes those green beans to the next level, roasting each variety to its perfect development on our pair of Loring smart roasters.

MAGGIE SCHWENKER

Wholesale & Customer Service Manager
(406) 249-9234
maggie@coffeetraders.com

Maggie joined MCT early in 2020 as a store manager before moving into her sales role. Before moving to Montana, she had worked in specialty coffee for nearly 10 years, and loves bringing the wealth of knowledge and perspectives she’s gained in the industry to her work with MCT. Her favorite part of the job is training, getting new baristas excited about the craft and science of great coffee. Maggie has a weakness for any natural processed coffee, like the El Salvador Cruz Gorda. When not tooling around in Glacier National Park with a car full of coffee, Maggie enjoys kayaking, knitting with her cats, and having way too many houseplants.

Shane Johnson

Wholesale Accounts Manager
406-261-5953
shane@coffeetraders.com

Shane joined MCT early in 2021. Starting on our production line, he worked both as a roaster and a production lead until starting his new role as Wholesale Account Manager at the end of 2023. A former English teacher, he looks to bring his experience as an educator and roaster to his role. Shane has a proclivity for medium to dark-roasted Central American coffees but has a growing fondness for our rotating natural process coffees. Outside of MCT, Shane can be found building Duplo and train sets with his boys, exploring Montana with his wife, writing mediocre literature and poetry, fiddling around on his guitars, or losing overpriced fishing lures in our many fine lakes.
