Coffee Story:

Members of the ILLAMPU Cooperative come from two indigenous groups called the “aymaras” and “quechuast”. These two groups live amongst three villages located in the Yungas region, Caranavi Province in the department of La Paz, Bolivia. On an average, each farmer in this area cultivates 3 hectares of land.

The premiums received through their Fair Trade certification is currently aiding in making improvements to their coffee processing facilities to ensure the quality of their coffee and offer a safe working environment for employees. The ILLAMPU Cooperative is also providing members with technical assistance to develop a quality product while maintaining organic farming practices.

Quality Bolivian coffees can be troublesome to find and very shy in abundance – and the quest for this coffee was no different. We are happy to share with you the efforts of the hard work behind this cup of deliciousness. This coffee is roasted to a medium roast, offering an essence of apricot with a hint of red apple sweetness, almond notes and finishing with milk chocolate.
