Coffee Story:

This coffee comes to us from small family owned farms organized around the Adado Cooperative located in the Bule district of Ethiopia. The name “Adado” comes from the name of the local tribe that resides in the area. The Adado Cooperative currently has 1,128 members and in 2002, they joined the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union (YCFCU). The YCFCU is an umbrella organization established in 2002, that assists these smaller cooperatives in the Gedeo ethnic region of Ethiopia. There are 26 other cooperatives affiliated with the YCFCU, totaling more than 35,000 members. The YCFCU offers producers both technical assistance with sustainability practices and crop production, while also lending support in the supply chain with getting producers coffees to market and exported.

With the purchase of this coffee, you are supporting the Fair Trade model and the many benefits of organic farming. This coffee is shade grown, surrounded by manmade semi-forests or intercropped gardens. It is our great fortune to be able to offer this coffee on our menu. It is roasted in both light and dark to appease all coffee fanatics drinking pleasure. Refer to tasting notes above for a full flavor description. Cheers and Enjoy!
