Coffee Story:

Organic Nicaragua Segovia is produced by small family owned farms growing coffee on an average of 5 acres of land. This growing region encompasses the departments of Estelí, Madriz and Segovia in the NW area of Nicaragua, bordering Honduras. This coffee is a fine representative of this area, showcasing flavors with round sweetness, loads of milk chocolate and exceptional balance. The processing technique used for this coffee was the fully washed method, followed by sun drying on a patio. Special attention and care for the coffee during harvest, processing and final milling are all evident in the quality this cup offers.

The contributing farmers of this coffee are members of the coffee cooperative, PRODECOOP. This cooperative helps sell and commercialize their coffee in a competitive global market place. PRODECOOP operates a centrally located dry mill facility and cupping lab where coffee is received, processed and selected for export. Agronomy assistance, educational opportunities and community supported projects are also facilitated for farmer members.
