Coffee Story:

This coffee is directly sourced from small-scale farmers belonging to the Tambaya wet mill. Tambaya, located in the Nyeri region, derives its name from an indigenous tree called Mutambaya. The mill serves 920 active members, whose small acre farms have an average of 175 coffee trees which produce approximately 6 pounds of coffee cherry per tree. Once the freshly harvested coffee is fully processed and milled, these 6 pounds of coffee cherry turns into roughly a pound and a half of exportable green coffee for roasting. Coffee is the main source of revenue for these farmers. With these earnings families can provide education to their children, pay for their health and medical needs as well as investing in home and farm improvements. We are thrilled to share in this coffee experience with you, cheers and enjoy!
