Coffee Story:

Our Colombia Excelso EP comes from small family owned farms in the growing region near Medellin, Colombia. The main harvest is between October and January. The “mitaca” or fly crop harvest is between April and June. This means in turn, that this region of coffee farming is continuously producing, processing and exporting the freshest of coffee.

Small coffee producers pick and process their coffee at their own micro wet mills and proceed to dry their own coffee. Typically the drying of the coffee takes place on elevated tables inside solar dryers that provide protection from the rain. (As seen in photos attached to this page, taken in the area of Popyan, Colombia – region south of Medellin).

The clarity of flavors and solid cups produced from this coffee this year have been undoubtedly welcome. Enjoy this coffee in a light or a dark roast. We also showcase this coffee in a signature blend “Colombia Especial”. Colombia Especial is blended to a perfect ratio of light and dark components, identifying the complexities and balance this coffee exudes.
